Family and Medical Counseling Services (FMCS)

A non-profit, community based organization designed to promote the development of emotionally and physically healthy individuals


Staff members include outreach workers, licensed social workers, case managers, physicians, physician assistants, discharge planners, dietician, testing counselors, nurses, medical assistants, and certified addictions counselors.

Volunteers are committed members of the community, consumers and former consumers.

Scope of Services

Information and Referral Services Counseling/Psychotherapy for Children and Adolescents Counseling/Psychotherapy for Individuals and Families Primary Medical Care Youth/Adolescent Prevention and Education Programs Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse Education and Counseling/Therapy (Individual and Group) Case Management HIV/AIDS Prevention Education HIV/AIDS Outreach HIV/AIDS Counseling and Testing Entitlements Counseling Parenting Skills Development Nutrition Counseling/Food Bank Support Groups

To make clients more aware of positive resources in the community that can increase functioning and make life more productive.

To utilize a community-based, culturally appropriate approach to provide comprehensive, holistic services that promote the emotional and physical health of families and individuals, regardless of income or social status, and maximize their quality of life.

To develop and implement innovative programs, demonstration and research projects, and services that foster the welfare and health of low, moderate, and fixed income persons and empower them to maximize their fullest economic, social, and health capabilities.
