In observance of Hepatitis Awareness Month, in May I am posting to this blog daily, suggesting ways to help raise awareness about issues surrounding hepatitis C.

If you are tempted to pass on the opportunity to raise awareness, keep in mind that in 2013, approximately 53 people died every day from hepatitis C. That is more than two an hour. With an increasing death rate, what are you waiting for? We have lives to save.

All hepatitis C deaths are tragic, but none more than the death of our Veterans, particularly because they are sometimes neglected. Memorial Day is a time to remember. Remember that veterans, particularly those who served in the Vietnam era, have a high prevalence of hepatitis C. For more information, visit HCVets
