Ive been fighting 11 years now first I was to sick for treatment but not sick enough for transplant after seven years I finally got my liver transplant. I was almost dead in recovery I had a heart attach, all the down time hurt my kidneys now they're working at 30% . Its been 4 years now in and out of the hospital. Now they tell me they have no money for new treatment drugs and they wonder why we get depressed they gave me this desease fix it.
so sad... I try to tell all my Canadian friends to go and get tested, I wonder if some of them will ever go ....
There is lots of money for drugs outside of the VA. (BTW, Sen. Bernie Sanders is really in the VA's face to do something about hep C). If I were in your shoes, I'd call Help 4 Hep 877‑Help‑4‑Hep (877‑435‑7443).
I would like to thank you for your writingabout Vets with HCV ,of which i am one. I have been fighting alot of years to stay alive,i was told by VA a year ago i am next for cure. Six months ago they asked me to give up my spot for a dying Vet,I was told that i would be next. Two weeks ago after waiting 6 months more i was told that now there is no more money for me. I am so used to the mumbo jumbo from the VA it is not surprising. I have been wrangling with them for 13 yrs for my service connection,my motto for them is "deny deny die" Well again thank you, please keep up the good work! Mike Savage

You don't have to do this alone - there is a lot of help out there. Here are a few resources (from http://www.hepmag.com/articles/hepatitis_paps_copays_20506.shtml) http://www.hepatitisc.pafcareline.org/ http://www.hepmag.com/articles/hepatitis_paps_copays_20506.shtml Help 4 Hep 877‑Help‑4‑Hep (877‑435‑7443) To help you through the process, if you aren't already on the Hep Forums, I highly recommend them: http://forums.hepmag.com/
