In observance of Hepatitis Awareness Month, I am posting to this blog daily, highlighting websites and organizations that are doing remarkable work educating the public, raising awareness, and making a difference in the lives of those affected by viral hepatitis. I suggest you visit each site, and find out what they are doing, how you can stay informed, and possibly help with their efforts.

The Hepatitis Education Project is one of the oldest organizations advocating for those affected by viral hepatitis, if you set aside the American Liver Foundation which has a broader mission. The Hepatitis Education Project has a top-notched staff of dedicated people. This Seattle-based organization is doing a lot of good work, but the projects that stand out for me are:

  • Free walk-in clinic and hepatitis resource center
  • Free hepatitis C testing
  • Prison Program
  • Jail Program
  • Youth Outreach

I am a huge fan of the Hepatitis Education Project; it is a model for every community.
