Thank you for the excellent information
Sage advice Steve. Let me know how your treatment turns out, and even if it is years from now, about your AT hike. I read Grandma Gatewood's Walk recently and it inspired me. Thanks for posting and spreading the hope.
Very sobering statistic on the mortality projection. I was diagnosed with Hep C in late 2008 and have been through 2 rounds of triple therapy over the last 5 years, each unsuccessful. I am thus far a "non-responder." I'm looking forward to the new single med treatment due out in October and hopefully will start round 3 sometime soon after approval! I am an avid runner, cyclist and hardcore hiker, so I can tell you from experience that daily exercise and healthy lifestyle is key to managing Hep C! I'm planning on a thru-hike of the Appalachian Trail in the next couple of years and hope to maybe use it as an awareness raiser for Hepatitis C, so whether or not round 3 happens and is successful or not, I plan on staying healthy and being around a while. I am hopeful and encourage all with Hep C to do everything you can to stay healthy, including getting treatment and hopefully I'll see some of you on the trail for years to come! Cheers!
