In observance of Hepatitis Awareness Month, I am posting to this blog daily, highlighting websites and organizations that are doing remarkable work educating the public, raising awareness, and making a difference in the lives of those affected by viral hepatitis. I suggest you visit each site, and find out what they are doing, how you can stay informed, and possibly help with their efforts.

All of the organizations I mentioned this month are ones that serve in the United States. I am ending with a global organization, the World Hepatitis Alliance, because it hosts the next hepatitis awareness event. World Hepatitis Day occurs on July 28. Now is the time to plan for that. We still have a lot of work ahead of us, and together, we can eradicate hepatitis.

NOTE: There are many more fine organizations that I didn’t mention in this month-long blog. In particular, there are some wonderful local organizations as well as organizations outside the U.S. Plus there are the fabulous patient assistance programs. If I did not mention your organization or website it is because we are blessed to have more hepatitis-related organizations than we do days in the month. Actually, it is not a bad problem to have. I’ll try to catch you in future blogs. Feel free to leave a comment so readers will be reminded of who is fighting for them.
