Hi Cyder, If cirrhosis is present then special medications may be needed in order to help symptoms from this level of liver damage. A special diet may also be recommended by your physician specifically for cirrhosis patients since they required balanced protein, and a low to no salt diet. Also regular tests and exams are needed to be done in order to be proactive with your liver health. All in all, Hep C treatment will be extremely beneficial and proactive for you to live a better quality life.

Hi Cdyer, I'm sorry you're dealing with all of this. It's important to move forward with Hep C treatment asap to stop the virus from doing further damage and help your liver function. Depending on the stage of your liver condition will help the doctors know how best to help you. Most symptoms do improve or go away all together, but many factors are involved in recovery. The level of liver damage, and other medical conditions all need to be considered. Please see my next comment entry to you.

I got hep c from a blood transfusion almost 35 years ago when I was 22 years old. About 20+ years ago I started having some medical issues including severe fatigue, terrible joint and muscle pain. I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia. I experience muscle weakness and burning upon exercising.I also suffer from depression and other mental problems such as short term memory problems and trouble concentrating.I stay active but it’s getting harder. If the treatments work will my problem get better?
