Liver Cancer May Not Cause Symptoms Until Very Advanced Stages

In its early stages, liver cancer does not always have obvious symptoms such as pain or weight loss. The best way to detect liver cancer in its early stages is with screening tests.

Typical signs and symptoms of liver cancer include weight loss, little or no appetite, pain in the abdomen or right shoulder blade, itching, nausea, vomiting, an enlarged liver and/or spleen, itching, jaundice (yellowing of the skin and eyes) and abdominal swelling.
