8th Annual Infectious Diseases Update 2017
The subspecialty of Infectious Diseases is a rapidly evolving area of medicine. In recent years, research has led to advances in the diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of various infections. New challenges, however, continue to emerge, creating a high demand for up-to-date and practical information among Infectious Disease practitioners, internists, and all clinicians who see patients with or at risk of infections.
The standard of care for treating HCV infection continues to evolve rapidly, and newer treatment regimens are effective but very costly. Many practitioners do not have the knowledge required to prescribe these newer treatments or even to counsel patients prior to referring to other specialists. The “Update on HCV” lecture by Dr. Kristen Marks will highlight the evidence-based approaches to managing patients with HCV infection. She will use case discussions to convey clinically important information to clinicians who will be better informed and able to advise patients appropriately.
