Epclusa has a very long half-life - it can take up to 2 months to fully eliminate. That said, I am not sure what you mean by "inflammation" pr that it comes back. Would you mind moving this question to the Hep Forums so we can explore more fully? Thanks!

I finished the 12 week treatment of Epclusa three weeks ago. I was wondering how long it takes for the drug to clear the system. Al the body pain has ended, and I don't have many symptoms that others have mentioned. The inflammation is the hard part to get rid of. I am currently taking prednisone for the inflammation. But as I decrease my doses every ten days I notice that the inflammation comes back. How long will it take before all the symptoms are cleared up?

Dandy - Drug-related hair loss usually takes 6 to 12 weeks to occur, so the hair loss is likely due to something that occurred in that time frame. Stress will do it, although you could also have a medical cause (such as thyroid or too many supplements) that might need some attention. If it is stress (or a fever) your hair will likely start growing back 6 to 12 weeks after you are done losing it.

I'm hoping my thinning hair will get thicker and my flaky , brittle nails will improve. My energy seems a lot better and i'm only 2 weeks into my treatment. I also had a life event that snapped me out of a lot of stress , tho, a couple months prior to rx starting. So, emotionally and physically i'm definitely going to have 2019 as the best year ever. I started working out. I want to try kayaking this summer. I'm 63yo.

I'm so glad to have found this site. I finished Mavyret 3 weeks ago and feel worse today than when I started. I've had 2 sets of labs and have been undetectable since the 4th week of an 8-week course of treatment. I'm 62 & almost one year clean and sober. I've struggled with addiction, depression and anxiety issues since adolescence. I tested positive for Hep C 30 years ago as I was an IV drug user and have been HIV positive since 1985. I have never felt so lousy as I do now. Thanks

This is not related as the medications have been out of your body for a very long time.

Assuming you were on direct-acting antivirals and not on ribavirin, this is something else entirely. The medications have been out of your body for a very long time.
