Today marks the opening of the 66th annual meeting of the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases (AASLD), also known as the Liver Meeting. I am particularly looking forward to this year’s event, which promises to be extremely relevant to hepatitis C patients. In addition to many presentations there will be two rallies calling attention to the obstacles that are interfering with access to hep C treatment.
In preparation for the meeting, I thumbed through Hepatology’s Abstract Supplement. Weighing more than four pounds, this nearly two-inch thick, 1378-page tome lists more than 2200 abstracts of posters and presentations that will appear at the meeting. There is some interesting research packed in these pages, and I will share as much as humanly possible.
So, stay-tuned for daily updates. I’ll also post to Twitter @LucindaPorterRN and Facebook LucindaPorterRN. Twitter users may follow the meeting at #Liver15
