Do you know if probiotics are safe to take while receiving Harvoni treatment?
I was wondering if the probiotics I take will interfere with my Harvoni?
It feels awesome to read such informative and unique articles on your websites.
Thanks for responding and continued best regards... you’re making life with hep c a more bearable through the sharing of your insights and experience out here in cyberspace... take care.
Hi, I don't know the answer to either of your questions, but I personally did not take any herbs while taking my HCV meds, especially the new ones.
Started taking Harvoni last week (10/30); have been supplementing with Milk Thistle and dandelion extract since 2007. Do you think there may be any type of interaction that would be similar to St. John’s Wort while on the medication? AND... like most, I’ve lived with Hep C for thirty to forty years with no symptoms until an ER visit for gastritis in 2004; never had any symptoms or signs (except “brain fog†and recent joint pains) that hep c was there until blood work was done on a follow-up with my PCP. So my question is this: are you aware of any study that definitively describes how long after the rx’d (8 weeks in my case) treatment can one anticipate regaining some clarity of thought and thinking and joint pain relief... or just wait and see? This really is great blog and thank you for what you’re doing...
Unless your doc wants you on EPO, I'd consider stopping it.

So far there is no research on this, but it is unlikely to be a problem. You can always space your pills more than 2 hours apart to be especially careful.
