Despite your previous experiences, the new treatments are much easier, work most of the time for all genotypes, the cure is permanent, and are covered by the VA and insurance. I suggest you find out more on the Hep Forums http://forums.hepmag.com
How did V2 get rid if the HCV? I've had 2 failed treatments my husband (also a vet) has failed once. We don't think the newer drugs will sustain long term treatment but that's our opinion. But we cannot afford them anyway. So am interested to know how V2 got his hep under control. I also have dual genos which cause treatment issues.

Hi, I loved the hope that Lucinda's comment offered about treating in the future. V2 finished Harvoni in 2016 and is HCV free! I haven't talked to him in a while, but remember that his viral load got lower slowly. I hope he follows up soon. Dual genotype. Dang girl. You are in a rare group. I am glad we hooked up and hope that you and your husband will both Press On in getting treatment. Tenacity is key. Have you talked about clinical trials to doc yet? Veterans deserve treatment.
