Barb, I'm 27 days into same treatment with only mild to occasionally moderate side effects. Was detectable with a level of 29 at first blood test (down from millions) reviewing with Dr. this week. I went through 11 months of Interferon 15 years ago - what a difference!

Yes, ribavirin is a very hard drug to take (Harvoni probably wasn't much of a problem). I think ribavirin would turn the Dalai Lama into a maniac! So glad you are doing well on your current treatment.

I lasted 4 days w/harvoni and ribovirin, it was brutal. I was angered when I was told by the nurse to crush the meds and mix with litter or coffee grounds then toss it in the trash...thats $90,000!!! Thank you for the donation information. Presently doing very well on Solvaldi and Daklinza for geno 3, first bloodwork was undetectable! These meds do not make me sick!!!

I remember reading this and thinking how can you quit? At that time I was hoping to keep my ND status. I would not have missed 1 pill, they were the key to getting my life back. And I did!! I am cured! Btw...my Dr did 4 blood tests, 2 weeks 4 weeks,8 weeks and 12. Thank you for these forums that hat helped me thru my disease.

Not sure if this is the right place to ask. My liver doctor has prescribed Harvoni and I have been rejected 3 times for treatment. Recently, my insurance (Blue Shield) is also denying a Fibroscan. In the past, I was not denied. My insurance will continue to deny me access to treatment because I do not have stage 3 or 4 liver disease. I want to join a class action lawsuit against Blue Shield. I live in SF. Do you know of any class action lawsuits I can Join? Thanks for any information.

Personally, I'm shocked that someone would quit part way through what appeared to be successful treatment. I'm one of the lucky ones, I endured terrible side effects for 48 weeks several years ago and it worked. To think of quitting during a pill-a-day treatment (that was working) for only 12 weeks is unimaginable. I can only think that she must have received some really bad advice or just lacked proper treatment education and support. With that many viral loads, I suspect bad advice. Here's a good article that describes streamlined diagnostics: http://www.treatmentactiongroup.org/tagline/2015/spring/c-u-l8ter-hepatitis-c-eradication I hope that somehow she manages to remain undetected.
