PCR is a general term, and when applied to hep C, yes, it is the same as HCV RNA PCR. No, I have not hear of reactivation in this situation. The Forum has one person who may have had a reactivation, but it is very, very rare. Usually there is an explanation, such as a lab error.
Stumbled upon this blog/site this morning and am so grateful I did. I just posted a question on the top of Hep C and how it relates to lymphoma. I'm hoping I'll receive a response in the near future. I would like to extrapolate on that topic with one question. Is a PCR test the same as a HCV RNA PCR test? I'm thinking it is but am looking for a definitive answer. Have you, in your experience ever heard of a person with a successful Hep C outcome ever suffering a recurrence after chemo?
Bravo Lucinda , One thing You forgot to mention is the sheer power of reading a post and having the hair stand up , or a tear come to Your eye , or the unexplained sucker punch to the gut , the real feeling of being physically ill that comes with the reality of being mortal and caring so much for those You have never met!
