Thank you for speaking up. Your words are a powerful statement of how far we still have to go in order to make a difference. I am so very sorry that you aren't taken seriously. It is heart breaking. With better treatments around the corner, I hope that a life free of hepatitis C is in your near future.

I am recently diagnosed with Hep C . Your Ted talk and your wrings have helped me so much . I have similar symptoms and have for decades . I received transfusions after childbirth in 1978. And 1982. I have read much about the way blood was handled in those days. I have met with 4 different Drs . My GP who is totally uneducated , my specialist who is so busy I waited 3.5 hours for a 5 minute visit , and 2 specialists who spent an hour with me for a paid visit at a Mayo clinic. The most upsetting thing to me is that they don't seem to take my symptoms seriously or understand how debilitating they are . I have lived with this virus for decades and I want it out !
