I highly recommend the Hep Forums (http://forums.hepmag.com) for asking questions around living with and treating hepatitis C. You will find many folks willing to share their knowledge and experience.
I have cirrhosis and we don’t Know what caused it because I have never had any alcohol. There was a mention that I had Hep B in dental school in the early 70s but showing no evidence now. I have C LOL I want to confirm a leukemia and the doctors want me to start treatment but they are very concerned about my liver. Anyone has any information or can guide me to expert I would be more than grateful. Thank you
Your dad needs to ask his liver specialist about this. There are various causes of cirrhosis, and in some cases, taking vitamins can be harmful to the liver, especially if the supplement includes iron. Again, it depends on his individual situation.
my dad was told he had cirrhosis of the liver and he has extreme belly swelling and gets it drained once every two months want to know if one daily men's 50 plus advanced vitamin supplement is good for him thank you
It is important to know as which vitamin and supplements are having what. The ingredients or contents must be clears as patients with severe diseases like liver or kidney will have to face adverse effects of it.
Hi there, New to the forum. Husband has Hep C and just started Harvoni three weeks ago. He's feeling great and wants to begin working out. He went to Vitamin Shop and got protein and some other work out supplements. Is it okay to take these with a liver disease and while taking Harvoni? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Angel
Hi, Yes the treatment will work. Hepatitis C creates inflammation and leads to cirrhosis but if you add alcohol it is like throwing gas on a flame. Congratulations on your healthy lifestyle! Keeping your Meld low is so important! I wish you all the best. Xo Karen ;)
