Wow. You're being bombarded right now. I hope you're feeding yourself good mental, spiritual, and physical food! Cirrhosis can be "staged" using several methods. The one that uses bloodwork may not be as reliable right now since you have other conditions. I hope that it won't eliminate the possibility for treatment. I was End Stage and still got good medical care that saved my life with liver cancer. Maybe you can get a 2nd opinion. As for any products to heal the liver - unfortunately, they can also cause further liver damage. Ask your doctor to be sure. The liver loving diet that I use is low in red meat and spreads protein out slowly through the day. Avoiding processed foods helps too. Check out my liver loving diet for more ways to structure your meals. Please check back and keep looking for ways to heal your liver. All my best. xoxoxo Karen

I have a diagnosis of stomach cancer. The plan was to have 8 weeks of chemo, then surgery to remove the stomach, followed by more chemo. Now they have find the possibility of mild cirrhosis. They are having trouble being sure that I do have it and seem to be hesitant to operate if I have it. Are there any foods or natural products that will help to heal a fibrotic liver. Thanks

It is interesting to learn about the amount of chemicals that are in foods these days. However, natural foods can really heal diseases. Recently I learned that the liver has two purposes in your body. One is to clean out all of the excess chemicals inside of you. The other however is to build lean muscle mass. If your liver is too overworked from cleaning chemicals out of your system, then it cannot help you build muscle mass, creating inevitably higher fat percentage and raised blood sugar levels. Healthy foods though, really can heal you.

Hi Jo, Please forgive my tardiness. I'm not sure where you live, but am happy to see that you are trying to stay healthy in your lifestyle and with nutrition. In the states, we do not use as much herbs or homeopathic. If your medical consultant approves, then it is ok for you to decide. I am wondering what your liver biopsy proved? It is indeed scary to begin treatment. You will need a support system of someone who can check on you. The interferon is what I used for almost a year. It worked, but it can be hard. The hair? yes, it hurts the pride for sure. But when it was all over and the virus was gone, my hair was growing back so quickly. Your liver can be free of the inflammation and you will feel so much better my dear. I hope that you will write again soon and give us news of your results. Thank you for writing. xo Karen:)

Hi Jo, I think it's fantastic that you are following a liver loving diet! That's not as easy with other stomach issues. There are so many things to worry about on treatment. The hair loss may be minimal, and I assure you that it grows back! The only concern about living alone is that you get the food you need and are able to make it to Dr. apps for labs, etc. I hope you can plan a back up for that. You've worked hard with the supplements also. It's recommended to stop any herbals once treatment begins because it can skew your lab results. I'm not sure what protease inhibitor you are using, but Vit D3 has shown good results during treatment. I'm so proud of you for taking charge of your health care especially since you live where there is not as much patient support. It's a tough go, but it can be done. The mental game is what helps you get through and I can tell you've got that beat already! Stay in touch and informed here, ok? xoxo Karen:)

Hi Karen, I follow a liver diet and I'm also a coeliac. I take the following supplements: Dandelion Root Milk thistle Vit B complex Microhydrin Selenium Magnesium Vit C L-Methionine The consultant thinks I've got cirrhosis and had hep C G1a for 20 years. Next stage is another liver biopsy and start treatment mid 2015. I'm very scared as I live on my own and also my hair may fall out. We are not as advanced here re tx as you are in USA and it is still Interferon based. Fearful of the side effects. Any comments would be gratefully received. God Bless Jo
