Thanks so much for writing this article. Do these new healthy normal's imply that having your #'s fall within these ranges (no lower than 29 or higher than 33 if you are a male for example) is optimal? The way I've always understood it is that the lower the number, the better. Thanks.

Yes - the ranges are confusing. Yes, generally a low ALT is not clinically significant, and although low is great, I'd stop short of saying "the lower, the better."
