In observance of Hepatitis Awareness Month, in May I am posting to this blog daily, suggesting ways to help raise awareness about issues surrounding hepatitis C.

Today (May 19, 2015) is the fourth national Hepatitis Testing Day. It is a day for people at risk to be tested, and for health care providers to educate patients about chronic viral hepatitis and testing. Millions of Americans have chronic hepatitis; most of them do not know they are infected. Here is what you can do to participate:
  • Urge everyone you know who was born in the years 1945 through 1965 to be tested for hepatitis C.
  • If you have hepatitis C, be sure you have been immunized against hepatitis A and B.
