And in case anyone was wondering what they played (I know you wait with bated breath for this sort of information): JS BACH Concerto for Violin in E major, BWV1042 TCHAIKOVSKY "Souvenir de Florence" for String Orchestra, Op.70 BARBER Adagio for Strings HERBERT BERGER Metropoles Suite for Violin and Strings The Tchaikovsky was particularly amazing. I must add this rider, in case you are thinking I'm all fancy and go to the opera or to see orchestras at the drop of a hat. One of the people I was sitting with said it was like a "greatest hits for strings" She is someone who plays some important part in selecting repertoire (I know that because she knew exactly the right places to clap, while I just wanted to 'woo' at all the amazing parts) so I bow to her greater knowledge, while revelling in my uneducated joy. I'm much more a modern music person with a basic but flawed knowledge of chamber/orchestral music and just loved it all.

The Good Friend

So very glad you did. It was great to see you visibly unwind as the night went on. See you again soon. x
