I don't know if they will test you, but it would be unusual (and not medically wise) for them to deny you further treatment.

Before I start my treatment I haven’t smoked any marijuana. I was tested during my labs. When I finish my first month of my two month program and they test for viral load will they test for weed again? If so and I have weed in system will They not give me the last month of meds.

I haven't seen enough research on this to form an opinion.

Hello! I was wondering if there has been any studies on marijuana edibles and Hep C and cirrhosis. I prefer the edibles to the smoking, but not sure if the liver can handle the edibles or not. Thanks for any thoughts on this.

Thank you for this article Lucinda. Without going into too much detail, I would like to say that I've had the opportunity to observe the growth of a cannabis plant. When viewing the growth of the flower and watching the leaves sprout thousands of clear stems with tiny clear beads of the psychoactive chemical perched atop them(called Trichomes), I strongly felt it must have a medicinal benefit that we still may not know of. We are slowly emerging from the fear of a plant. A fear that was created mainly by a government sponsored in part by big pharmacy....sorry, I don't mean to rant :) Maybe now, cannabis as a medicine will see more funding for research that will yield tremendous benefits

You rock. Sensible, intelligent and compassionate. Yes, everyone should have health coverage, its a basic developed country right. Ran in to your blog just a few days ago. I love the fact that you like India and encourage others to take a trip their for Hep C treatment. My uncle, a small town doctor in Illinois, recently found out he's infected with Hep C. He asked me to have family and friends from India send medicine. I did with no issues. I know its "illegal" but I guess for up to $1500 a day is ok. His meds are probably worth $100K but it only cost us a little over $2500. My parents are both diabetic and have hypertension, meds here cost $5k a month, but we get it from India, its about $100 a month. We've been doing this for 15 years. I encourage this because I have friends that send me the medicine, whom I trust. Now, for someone just to go online and order meds, I don't recommend. I wish I could help.

I was treated for Hep C about 7-8 years ago. I dropped 40 pounds right away. I was just unable to eat. Food taste terrible, I had throat and mouth infections and I started smoking cannabis for that reason. It was the only thing that helped me to be able to eat anything. My doctor drug tested me and told me if I showed up positive for THC again he would take my meds away. I was lucky enough to learn for the small amount I was using it would be out of my system in two weeks. I tried it and it worked. Every time I had a doctor's appointment I would stop for two weeks and it never showed up again. I was able to stop the Hep C and all I can say is Thank GOD for the cannabis.
