Hi Kerrie, Thank you for sharing with us. You are indeed a strong warrior. You are courageous and brave and can do this. Do you mind sharing what treatment meds you are specifically doing? I could totally relate to your message. I did triple therapy with Incivek, Peg Interferon and Ribavirin in 2012 and completely lost my appetite. All the foods that normally would have tasted good, I did not even want. Some treatment drugs effect the appetite. If you are having trouble getting in nutrition, nutrition supplement drinks can be of help. Some patients have mixed ice cream in with these drinks. You can also blend your own smoothies of different types to get in good nutrition. There are lots of different recipes you can look up on the internet as well. Live culture yogurt is also good in many ways because it has good bacteria that your system needs. Try the best you can to eat fresh fruit and vegetables as much as possible. Limit high sodium foods and processed foods. Eat lean proteins, but you may want to ask your doctor about the right balance of protein's for your liver condition. If you care to read some articles on how to help get through treatment with Mile Markers, see this link to my website for this article: http://www.lifebeyondhepatitisc.com/2014/11/hep-c-treatment-mile-markers/ This method helped me get through treatment. Keep us posted on how you're doing. Feel free to let me know if you have further questions. We are here for you. You are in my prayers as you move ahead. Blessings, Connie

Hi Carol, Thank you so much for sharing. Congratulations on your husband's completing treatment and success! That is so fantastic! I know the relief you feel that treatment is over and recovery is going well. I personally felt like I had been given the gift of my life back. It took me about 5 months in recovery before I saw a huge change, but each week from the time treatment ended brought increased energy and improvements. Just like treatment takes time, so does total recovery. The body has been through a terrific battle and is in the rebuilding stage. It takes patience in the process but it is so worth it to feel great again. So happy for you and your husband. You are both Hep C Warriors! Blessings, Connie

My husband finished 24 weeks of triple therapy on Feb 27, 2014 and it was successful. I tried to find information regarding the post treatment recovery and the reports were mixed. I want to share that after less than 3 months, he has made a dramatic turnaround. We are so thankful because his mental, physical, and emotional health has been at ground zero for the past 12 years. The treatment was not pretty, with many mental and emotional side affects. He did not take any anti-depressants, I cried a lot, had hurt feelings, but we made it through the treatment. He is 57 and getting stronger each day. He worked a 10 hour day yesterday. Amazing.
