continuing.........Over a 4 week period he required 6 bags of blood transfused. What an ordeal. Finally, the dr. stopped the Riba...from the Vikiera-Pak and not long after that, the entire drug. His cure had happened weeks before but he was supposed to go 6 months. He went almost 4. Never heard from Dr. after that, except for referral to Hemotologist...he prescribed a steroid drug to help his bone marrow and it's working...hemo. level now at 12.5. Needs to get to about 16. What an ordeal.

continuing..........He noted while in his office how pale my husband was and ordered a blood test immediately. The very next day he called and told us to go to the hospital immediately for blood transfusions, 2 bags. Holy you know what. His hemoglobin level had dropped to a dangerous level, 3.5. We were told up front by this doctor that there could be a risk of anemia. Then he told us that the previous blood test showed slight anemia, but .....no mention and nothing done regarding any adjustm

Please insist that your doctor monitor your hemoglobin very closely. My husband became very weak, pale, and fast heartbeat...barely able to walk any distance at all. When I gave his assistant the symptoms, she related would tell the doctor. Later, on our phone recorder, he left a message to take Tylanol. What? The next day i called again, more insistent that he see my husband and we did get in. He apologized about the Tylanol and said he thought my husband had the flu. Wait a minute?

Which kind of treatment would you recommend for Hepatitis C genotype 3? It is suggested that there's a choice between Sovaldi vs Daklinza but Sovaldi is really expensive. Is using Daklinza still recommended?

My health care provider will not pay for the Harvoni. They are making me take the Vietira Pak. I have 1b type and Harvoni was prescribed. Any way I can have a say so in this matter? I'm not liking the side effects of the Vietira.. Thanks
