I'll definitely let you know if my fasting blood glucose improves after HCV clears. On the Forum as well It wasnt too high in the first place. About 106. But low pre-diabetic. My doc thought it wouldnt take all that much lifestyle change to get it to normal. That was only a few weeks before he ran the HCV antibody test
Elias, if you think of it, let me know!
Very interesting, Lucinda!!! A spike in my liver enzymes had shown up about same time that my fasting glucose had moved into pre-diabetic range. The enzyme spike is what prompted internists to run HCV test, which was + I'm now on DAA tx I wonder if HCV clearance will result in some improvement in my IR as well

Just got my 4-week labs after beginning Epclusa. Aside from being UNDETECTED, my glucose level was 78!! Whereas it had been running in the prediabetic low 100's a few months ago. Same time as liver enzymes spiked. I had not been doing those "lifestyle changes" for insulin resistance recently. So perhaps a few weeks of lessening HCV had rapidly improved the insulin resistance? I wont know for sure until glucose levels are repeated n remain normal. I posted about this at Forum under: Research News
