Hi Melinda, So sorry to hear you had a difficult time with this. You are right, NOT everyone is the same or has the same experience. I was just expressing my experience. Majority of Hep C patients I have talked to did not have a bad experience, but there was indeed soreness and some discomfort. Hopefully you won't ever have to do another one, or if needed hopefully the Fibroscan will be available. This new test is be a tremendous help and ease for all liver patients, since there is no surgical procedure, only specialized ultra sound. All the Best to you~ Connie

I had one in 2012 and it was the worst experience of my life. Felt like my insides were being sucked out of my body and horrible throbbing pain that lasted thru that day and extremely sore for the next few weeks. So, everyone is NOT the same. So glad you didn't have a problem. Maybe because I have cirrhosis there was just hardened bits of liver being sucked up, but it's not a pleasant experience and I'm not looking forward to doing it again.
