Thanks for your comment Queenbee. I am not in favour of compulsory testing and I think informed consent is essential. Many aspects of life have risks (including driving and eating fatty foods) so people need accurate information to make their own decisions on minimising or managing risk. Sexual transmission of hep C is virtually impossible between heterosexual couples, so testing would be a waste of time and money in the absence of other risk factors.

I have to agree with you. Healthcare officials should make it a mandatory for everyone even if they are virgins (or those who don't sleep around)to Hepatitis testing.
