Jeff - Unfortunately (for many) interferon and ribavirin are still very much apart of today's treatment landscape. But, yes, we're starting to see VERY encouraging results from studies testing interferon-free regimens. And there's a new study now under way (see Trial of the Future on the hepmag.com homepage).

i went on the Interferon-Ribavarin treatment last year, and ended up hospitalized with severe anemia, low hemoglobin and platlet levels within a week of starting treatment. Is there any treatment in the works that doesn't involve these two drugs?
