Was diagnosed with hep C 12 years ago. I have medical insurance. But they won't cover the medication until I'm stage 2 I am stage 1 at the moment. So does that mean I have to get sick first more sick than I already am. Fatigue stomach problems irritability. I feel my doctor is not really concerned. In 1976 I had a late term miscarriage and had a blood transfusion at UC in San Francisco. Don't know if that's how I ended up with this disease could have picked it up anywhere.

What does someone do if they cannot afford the medicine needed. The cost of these drugs is overwhelming. My gastroenterologist stated that the drug she wants to prescribe does not come in generic therefore my prescription coverage will not cover the cost. I'm terrified that I'm going to die because I cannot afford the medicine needed.
