A form of hepatitis that is found mostly in developing countries of Asia, Africa, Central America and the Middle East has been reported in two people in Texas, the New York Examiner reports
The two people have the viral liver infection, hepatitis E. One is a 21 year old woman who later died during a liver transplant and the second 44 year old nurse’s aide who has suffered liver damage.
It is currently stumping health officials since neither of the victims had any history of foreign travel.
