I read the article but there was no (to best of my reading) definition of Chronic Inflammation!!
I agree with BradFordah. I'm curious to know why this article, and many on this website, never include supplements in their reporting. There are so many over the counter products that can help with chronic inflammation such as Turmeric and many other supplements available. They may or may not work for you, however if there is a chance that it will, and it's all natural, I know I'd try it. To the editors of this website, please at least attempt to post research on alternative treatment.
Been POZ since 1985. I was a "slow progressor" with >1600 T-cells at seroconversion, so did not go on ARVs for first 10 years. Since starting tx , my gut has been in constant upset. I carry a bag with extra underwear and always know locations of bathrooms in public buildings on my travel routes. Have be dx with irritable bowel, lactose intolerance, "nervous gut", etc. but no effective tx. Now trying probiotics with some success! Also using "slurry" of psyllium fiber which helps.
Are there any papers on this I can share with my physician. I'm experiencing a mystery "pain" all over my body that no explanation can be found for. This may be the answer since I've been infected since the late '70s. I have neuropathy in my feet from DDC drug trials but this is something different. My muscles seem to tense up a bit when it starts, usually late in the day, and I'll run a low grade fever (
HIV+ since 1985. Saw many friends through their illness to their deaths. House mates, ex- partner as well. Survived AZT, DDI, D4T and many other drugs thru the years, including the cocktail in the mid 90's. Went thru so much trauma of death and dying with close friends, I finally left on disability. I don't think I've seen one doctor that had the same plan or recommendations. On disability in part to keep my access to drug therapy, doctors and some relief of stress. Face accelerated aging.
Neuropathy! Ihave neuropathy so bad it affects my daily life. I started Lyrica this month which helps, but I am certain I have permanent nerve damage. I Am convinced that inflammation is partly to blame. Before Lyrica I was on oxycodone, which triggered the addictive part of my personality. I am off oxy now. Any ideas with respect to severe neuropathy?
I'm overall disappointed to read this article. Having read many of the alternative theories on HIV infection, also being a voracious reader of all things related to health, this article reveals the very blind and uncreative approach to HIV Have you studied water fasting /HIV/inflammatioin reduction. If not, why not? How much study of probiotics (and hello, no mention of prebiotic foods) has been done? on Kefir? Also no mention of all the food allergens and toxins , or stress....

30 years +, now, once again, facing an insurance company which has decided to remove two of my meds (odefsey & Celebrex) from their formulary. I am ‘undetectable ‘ with high (1000 +) CD4. How soon can I expect decline to start once these meds are no longer available to me?
