I was denied Harvoni treatment and I appealed their denial. Again, I was denied and finally I took my case to the Independent Medical Review Board and won. Within 5 days I had my medication. DO NOT take no for an answer. It is medically necessary for everyone to be treated for this virus no matter what stage it is. Prevention of further liver damage is what is needed. Please don't give up the fight. Appeal your initial denial and just keep fighting until they say yes.
I tested for hep c Nov 21. The waiting period is after feb to see a dr. I have bobs of NC the silver version of the Obama care. What are patients doing for treatment if bcbs is not paying? I'm 37. Most liked contracted it by if drug use. I've been clean 4 years and 4 months.
It is about time. Nothing is more frustrating then trying to help a patient and then having to tell them your insurance has denied your treatment. You pay for insurance and then can't use it when you need it most. It is like they are picking and choosing who will live and who may die.
Blue cross blue shield denied me also despite the fact that I've had their insurance for decades ! My doctors office submitted application paperwork twice still they refused. How can I also be a part of the law suit

Seems like they're cutting off their nose to spite their face. Wouldn't it be cheaper to treat us earlier (before we get significant liver damage) than to wait until we have to be treated for that too? Are they just hoping we'll die while they play semantic games?
