got hep c from transfusion at ucla in late 70s. I'm 75 now and want to find a specialist or trial.
I contracted chronic Hep c geno 1 in 1967 when I had Hep B. Found this out in routine physical blood test last year. My liver specialist at Scripps Green La Jolla did fibroscan and said I was borderline cirrhosis. He has me on olysio/sovaldi 12 wk. plan. I have 5 days remaining of meds. Last 2 blood tests showed undetectable viral load. Some side effects last 7 weeks but tolerable. Liver MRI/last blood test ( while on plan) ystdy. Can't wait for results. I believe these are miracle drugs.

It is not just drug users who get hep c. Many like me got it from hospitals getting transfusions in the 70's or early 80's.
