I had no idea that HCV had impacted Jon Secada's family. I was diagnosed with HCV back in 2000 and refused the Interferon treatment. My husband and I felt it was far more invasive than the virus itself. Sadly, my husband (who also had HCV) died in 2011 from an unrelated cause. I was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer (rare form, like Steve Jobs) in October 2010 and the cancer had metastasized in my liver. The question now is, what came first the cancer or the HCV? Did one cause the other?
Thank you Jon for raising your voice to help us!

My mother was diagnosed with transfusional Hep C. She died of liver cancer in 2004. My question is....WHAT YEAR was PEGYLATED INTERFERON AND RIBAFERON put on the market as a possible cure for Hep. C. It would just help me to understand everything and end my unrest. I hope you will answer soon. Thanks so much!
